1. What is the “Frenvi REuse” range?

Frenvi REuse range encompasses a selection of houseware products specifically designed for repeated use. Unlike single-use alternatives, these products are made from durable materials, ensuring they can withstand regular washing and wear and tear.

2. What are Frenvi REuse products made from?

Frenvi REuse products are made from a unique bio-composite material called “AgroDur”. AgroDur bio-composites are mixture of responsibly sourced crop residues and virgin Polypropylene Plastic (PP#5) in a 50:50 ratio.

3. What is AgroDur bio-composite?

AgroDur is the name of a bio-composite used as a raw material in manufacturing Frenvi REuse products. They offer the best choice for affordable sustainability that can scale and deliver significant value in terms of reduced carbon footprint and conservation of resources.

4. What are the plant fibers used in AgroDur material?

Coffee Husk, Rice Husk, Bamboo Fibers, Wood chips & Sawdust, Cornstarch and Coconut Coir.

5. Does it contain plastic?

Yes, the raw material contains virgin polypropylene plastic (PP#5) as a binder to make the product more durable and to ensure that they can withstand regular washing and wear & tear. They are BPA & BPS free, Formaldehyde free and certified to comply with RoHS standards.

6. Is it Unbreakable?

For their intended use, the products do not break. Not to worry, they also take a few drops just in case.

7. Are these Biodegradable?

No, our products are not biodegradable – unless we explicitly mention this. Frenvi REuse products are usually durable and recyclable at their end of use.

8. Are these Microwavable?

Yes, Frenvi REuse products are tested and certified safe to use in the microwave as per European standards. Based on our internal tests, we find the products are suitable for reheat purposes in the microwave.

9. Can I put it in Dishwasher?

Yes, Frenvi REuse products are tested and certified safe to use in dishwashers as per European standards. We recommend placing the products on the top rack. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Wipe it dry with a cloth after washing. 

10. Can I use scrub to wash?

The products are made with natural fibers. Using scrubs may result in the products aging sooner than desired. You may relate this to using scrubs on your clothes made of linen or cotton. We advise you to avoid using harsh scrubs while washing.

11. What is the shelf-life of the products?

Frenvi REuse products have a very long shelf-life just like steel and plastic if they are taken good care. They can be washed and reused for up to 3000 cycles.

12. Are the products Food Contact Safe?

Yes, our products that are intended to come in contact with food are food contact safe. The Frenvi REuse products are certified safe as per US, Europe and Indian standards.

13. How are Frenvi REuse products better than plastic products?

Plastic is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. They are versatile, durable, economical and scalable. Hence they are ubiquitous – found in protecting our food, improving our healthcare solutions, and supporting consumers and industries in many ways. However, they are made from fossil resources and its use as disposable products results in significant environmental concerns, which outweighs its benefits. Our products and services enable us to reduce carbon footprint, conserve resources and prevent plastic pollution – compared to the traditional plastic products. Our products achieve this by using natural fibers derived from agri-waste. The products also have better strength and heat stability compared to plastic.

14. How are Frenvi REuse products better than melamine products?

There are growing concerns about the harmful chemicals used in melamine products worldwide. Melamine has low heat stability, resulting in harmful chemicals to leach into the hot food or drinks served in them causing serious health hazards. Melamine products are also made with a very long cycle of heating, resulting in high energy consumption. They are not safe for microwave use.

Our products do not contain harmful chemicals. They have much better heat stability compared to melamine products, and hence are safe to use in microwave and dishwashers. Unlike melamine products, our products can be recycled at their end of life.

15. How are Frenvi REuse products better than ceramic products?

There are growing concerns about the potential leaching of chemicals from some ceramic products, particularly those with decorative glazes, worldwide. While generally considered safer than melamine, some ceramics may contain trace amounts of heavy metals that could leach into food or drinks under certain conditions, such as prolonged exposure to acidic foods or high temperatures. The manufacturing process for some ceramic products can alsobe energy-intensive.

Our products are made with Agri-waste and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free from harmful chemicals such as BPA, BPS and meet stringent safety standards. They have excellent heat stability, surpassing that of many other ceramic products, and are safe for microwave and dishwasher use. Furthermore, our products are designed for durability and longevity, reducing the need for frequent replacements. Unlike some ceramic products that may end up in landfills, our products can be either recycled or composted at their end of life.

16. How are Frenvi REuse products better than moulded bamboo products?

Many pretty looking, moulded bamboo products sold in the market contain melamine and formaldehyde, which are carcinogenic and harmful. We do not use melamine or formaldehyde in our products and they are absolutely safe to use in food contact.

17. How are Frenvi REuse products better than wooden products?

Our products are made from residual crop-waste, and we do not use toxic chemicals. Our products have better carbon footprint, conserve resources with least wastage in comparison to many wooden products. Trees are felled to make wooden products. Up-to 90% of wood gets wasted in making the finished products. Many wooden products, especially cutlery items were found to be coated with toxic chemicals that easily leach into food. We encourage the use of wood for products having a long life that helps sequester carbon for a period that is longer than the age of the tree (e.g. furniture).

18. Is it safe to use products made from Agri-waste?

Yes, absolutely! We have verified this by testing for food contact safety, with temperatures as high as 70 Degree C. We extract natural fibers from agri-waste mechanically, without using any chemicals. We further process them at a high temperature and bind them with food contact safe binders before moulding them into finished products. This process ensures that Frenvi REuse products are safe, sustainable and superior in quality.

19. Where do you source your renewable materials from?

We prioritize sustainable sourcing of our renewable materials. These are derived from residual agri-waste from agricultural and industrial activities within Karnataka, sourced from local farmers and factories.

20. How do I dispose of the product after use?

After extensive use, we encourage you to return the product to recycle. You need to handover the product to your municipal waste collecting agency along with other dry waste suitable for recycling.

21. Can I use both hot and cold beverages or food items?

Yes they are, Frenvi REuse products are designed to accommodate both hot and cold food items.

22. Is Frenvi REuse products recyclable, compostable or biodegradable?
